Standing Committees and Task Forces
The affairs of the Association are managed by Council and the Executive Director, supplemented by standing boards and committees, and ad hoc committees and task forces which may be established by Council from time to time.

Committee Function
Audit Oversees the external audit, financial and risk management affairs and internal controls.
Branches Report through Communications Committee. Fifteen geographical branches carry on local activities.
Discipline Discipline Panels hold courts of inquiry into conduct of members.
Executive As delegated by Council, acts for Council when time dictates.
Geoscience Reviews academic qualifications and experience of applicants for registration.
Registration Sets and implements the policies of Council regarding the application process and professional licensing with APEGBC.
Structural Qualifications Board Liaises with other committees and keep Council and the engineering community informed of the program progress.
Applications Evaluates working experience of applicants in various disciplines.
Board of Examiners Evaluates academic qualifications of applicants.
Registration Task Force Studies and advises on registration-related issues.
Professional Renewal Task Force Ensures that APEGBC's processes function in the public interest and are consistent with best practices of self-regulatory bodies.
ABCPF/APEGBC Joint Practice Board Considers issues under the MoU involving the education and practice of engineering, geoscience and forestry in the forest industry.
Building Codes Reviews matters relating to building regulations in BC.
Building Envelope Develops and administers program to qualify individual professional engineers and architects as Building Envelope Professionals.
Consulting Practice Reviews matters relating to professional aspects of engineering and geoscience consulting.
Environment Advises Council on appropriate Association stance on environmental matters including new legislation.
Investigation Investigates complaints against members. Recommends formal hearings as warranted.
Practice Review Responsible for practice review of members.
Sustainability Promotes an understanding of the Guidelines for Sustainability and the benefits of their application.
Continuing Professional Development Reviews matters relating to continuing professional development for members.
Editorial Board Advises on editorial content and solicits articles for Innovation.
Mentoring Assists EITs and GITs in working towards professional registration.
Standing Awards Solicits and reviews nominations for Association awards and recommends winners to Council.
Division for Advancement of Woman in Engineering and Geoscience APEGBC Division to review professional issues affecting women engineers and geoscientists.
Division of Engineers and Geoscientists in the Resource Sector APEGBC Division to review professional issues affecting geoscientists and engineers working in the forest industry.
Municipal Engineers Division APEGBC Division to review professional issues affecting municipal engineers.
Division of Environmental Professionals APEGBC Division to review professional issues affecting environmental engineering and environmental geoscience.
Engineers Benevolent Fund A registered charity devoted to assisting members in financial distress.
Foundation Trustees A registered charity incorporated under the Society Act that supports engineering and geoscience education through scholarships, bursaries and the promotion of professional development opportunities.
