Solidification/stabilization (S/S) is a treatment technology used in the remediation of contaminated environmental media. S/S treatment involves mixing portland cement into contaminated soil, sediment, sludge or waste, and protects human health and the environment by immobilizing hazardous constituents within the treated material. The presentation will illustrate the principles of the treatment and provide examples of full-scale use at remediation projects.
