MAKING THE MOST OF THE ECONOMIC DOWNTURN: HOW TO STRENGTHEN YOUR ORGANIZATION’S CULTURAL CAPITAL AND RESILIENCY
Alex Wray

9:00 - 10:15 am
If there is one thing that companies are learning in the current economic crisis, it's the importance of resilience — the ability of an organization to withstand shocks and remain sustainable under prolonged periods of duress. The current crisis shows us that organizations that are strong on the inside also are strong on the outside. Being strong on the inside means having a values-driven culture, a highly aligned, cohesive and effective leadership team, a low level of cultural entropy, and a high level of staff engagement. Learn about the characteristics of resilient companies and seven actions to build your company’s resilience, based on Dr. Richard Barrett’s work on mapping values and tools for cultural transformation. Insights from this session will support you in traversing the economic downturn, and place you in a strong position for success when normalcy returns.

PROFIT BUILDING LEADERSHIP PRACTICES
Harriett Lemer

10:45 am – 12:00 pm
The proof is in! Research has drawn a straight line between a leader's actions, sustained competitive success and bottom-line results. This session will highlight where a leader should put their focus, both personally and organizationally, in order to keep and grow a profitable enterprise. It will examine the link between a leader's actions and the culture of an organization, and how it is possible to improve or detract from the bottom-line through leadership style. We will also examine the characteristics of organizations that have sustained their competitive success and four easy ways to implement profit building practices.

MENTORING FOR SUCCESS
Jenny Lewis

3:30 – 4:45 pm
Today's time pressures often lead to reduced time spent with your mentees. The good news is that your mentoring relationships can be very productive with only one to two hours of mentoring per month. In this session, you will learn best practices to support your mentee as he or she works towards their personal development goals - resulting in learning and development for both the mentee and mentor.
