2007 President’s Awards – Call for Nominations

Do you know of an outstanding professional engineer or geoscientist?  The Standing Awards Committee is actively seeking nominations for the 2007 President’s Awards.  Nominate a colleague, mentor or subordinate and help promote engineering and geoscience excellence in your community.

Every fall, APEGBC award winners are honoured by their colleagues at the President’s Awards gala during APEGBC’s Annual Conference, and are highlighted in other prominent communications materials including the Vancouver Sun.   Through proactive communication about award winners, APEGBC’s President’s Awards are a chance to promote some positive public awareness of APEGBC members.

New this year is the APEGBC Young Professional Award.  This award aims to recognize a professional member (P.Eng. or P.Geo.) under the age of 35 who excels in work-related achievements, and service to the professions and to the community.

Nominations consist of a letter brief letter of nomination, an abbreviated resumé/curriculum vitae, supporting materials and a completed nomination form. With several award categories, this is an excellent way to honour a deserving colleague.  The 2007 President’s Awards will be held at the TELUS Whistler Conference Centre on October 26, 2007 in Whistler, BC.

The deadline to submit nomination forms is Friday, April 20, 2007. More information on the awards and their terms of reference is available at www.apeg.bc.ca/members/awards/2007PresidentsAwardsTOR.pdf.  To download a nomination form, please visit www.apeg.bc.ca/members/awards/pres-awards-nomination.pdf.
