Memorandum of Agreement Between Engineers Canada and Engineers Ireland

As a result of a request to enter into a mutual recognition agreement from Engineers Ireland, Engineers Canada formed a team to carry out a review of the Engineers Ireland system of registering Chartered Professional Engineers and to negotiate a mutual recognition agreement at the full professional level. Engineers Canada and Engineers Ireland already recognize each other's accredited engineering programs through the Washington Accord, signed in 1989.

On February 27, 2009, Engineers Canada signed a mutual recognition agreement at the full professional level with Engineers Ireland, entitled: "Mutual Recognition of Registered/Licensed Engineers by the Jurisdictions of Ireland and Canada to Facilitate Mobility". APEGBC Council ratified this agreement at their March meeting.
