CPD Guideline Amended to Align with APEGGA
APEGBC’s Continuing Professional Development (CPD) Guideline has been revised to align with the requirements of the Association of Professional Engineers, Geologists, and Geophysicists of Alberta (APEGGA). Council approved the revised CPD guideline for release at its February 2011 meeting and the new guideline will take effect January 2012.

2012 Release Date Expected for New BC Building Code
According to the Province’s Building and Safety Standards Branch, the next editions of the BC Building Code, BC Fire Code and BC Plumbing Code will be published in spring 2012 with an effective date in the fall of 2012, rather than the expected spring 2011 release date.

Project Highlights Pictorial – Call for Submissions
Innovation, the journal of the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of BC, is inviting photo submissions for its 2010/2011 Project Highlights. This pictorial feature, published annually in our July/August issue, showcases the diverse activities of BC’s professional engineers and geoscientists both at home and abroad. The deadline to submit photos for inclusion is Friday, May 6, 2011.

BC celebrated National Engineering and Geoscience Month (NEGM) during the month of March as the annual initiative to raise awareness about the important role the professions play in society.
