Videos Provide Information on Registration Processes
APEGBC recently produced two recorded webcasts—one on member-in-training experience reporting, and one on registration interviews. These online video presentations provide useful information to applicants and members-in-training about various steps on the path to professional registration.
The Experience Reporting webcast outlines what is required for members-in-training to complete their four years of experience requirement in order to achieve professional registration as a P.Eng. or P.Geo. member. The webcast presentation provides valuable information such as what kind of engineering and geoscience experience is acceptable and unacceptable, what is considered acceptable experience in a Canadian environment or equivalent, and how to present your experience for review and what to include.
The Interview Process webcast provides an overview of the different kinds of interviews that may be a part of the registration process, including Experience Reviews, Looking-to-Exempt interviews, and member-in-training experience discussions. The interview process itself is explained, and information is given on the composition of interview panels, what kind of documents may need to be provided, what the expectations are for the interviewee, and what an interview report looks like.
The presentations are intended to explain and demystify APEGBC’s registration processes, familiarizing applicants and members-in-training with what to expect, and providing them with tools for success.
Both webcasts are available on demand on the APEGBC website at www.apeg.bc.ca/reg/reference.html.
