Symposium Offers Networking Opportunity for Women in Engineering

Female engineering students and industry professionals will have the opportunity to learn and network at a two-day symposium at the UBC Loon Lake facility in Maple Ridge on September 19th and 20th. The Creating Connections symposium will feature speakers and workshops, focusing on the importance and value of academic and career networks, mentoring relationships, and leadership skills.
The event aims to bring together the people and groups that work to support women in engineering, diversity, and community outreach so that connections can be built and partnerships can be established.

Keynote speakers at the event will include UBC Dean of Applied Science, Dr. Tyseer Aboulnasr, P.Eng.; Dr. Elana Brief, Research Director of the Women’s Health Research Network; and Catherine Roome, P.Eng., Chief Operating Officer of the BC Safety Authority.
