Survey of BC Building Code Users Underway

The BC Building and Safety Standards Branch is conducting a province-wide online survey of users of the BC Building Code to gather information on the level of code compliance as well as information on the efficiency of the building regulatory system. APEGBC members who use the BC Building Code in their work are encouraged to provide input through this survey.

The survey data gathered will assist the BC Building and Safety Standards Branch in identifying where the regulatory system is working well and where improvements could be realized. This is part of the ongoing policy work focused on modernizing the building regulatory system. The survey takes between 5 and 10 minutes to complete and can be found here.

The Province’s Building and Safety Standards Branch is responsible for developing and implementing a modern legislative framework for regulating safety in the design, construction and occupancy of buildings in British Columbia.
