City of Vancouver Regulatory and Permitting Review
The City of Vancouver Development Services Department administers a variety of regulations, such as city bylaws and Land Use Development Policies and Guidelines, and is undertaking a number of initiatives aimed at improving service. These include a regulatory review to streamline, update and eliminate conflicting regulations, and a review of permit processing. To help identify and prioritize areas for improvement, the City is conducting a survey of stakeholders, and is encouraging members to provide their feedback.
The regulatory review will look specifically at the City’s zoning and development bylaw, its official development plan bylaws, land use development policies and guidelines, parking bylaw, sign bylaw, and private property tree bylaw. Review of the regulations may also trigger reviews of provisions in other City bylaws.
The survey closes February 1, 2009 and is available online at vancouver.ca/commsvcs/developmentservices/survey/index.htm.
