Survey Responses Sought From Users of Forest Science Research

The Forest Investment Account-Forest Science Program (FIA-FSP) funds applied research in the areas of sustainable forest management and improving timber growth and value.  It produces research that is made widely available to practitioners in this field.

As a mechanism of government, FIA-FSP is looking to ensure that it is delivering credible and relevant scientific knowledge to support sustainable forest management policies and practices.  To this end it is carrying out a survey to gather data on how FIA-FSP research is used and how satisfied users are with its products. As many APEGBC members are potential users of the scientific information generated through FIA-FSP research, the Forest Science Board is encouraging members’ participation in this survey.

The survey is being conducted online by PriceWaterhouseCoopers on behalf of FIA-FSP and should take approximately 12 minutes to complete. Responses are confidential and only a summary report will be provided to the Forest Science Board. This survey is a follow-up to the baseline survey conducted in February 2006, and can be accessed here (vovici.com/l.dll/JGs61F95094E8lhzD9U28266J.htm).

The closing date for the survey is Wednesday, March 5, 2008.

FIA publications and reports are accessible from the Ministry of Forest and Range Library at www.for.gov.bc.ca/hcp/fia/reports.htm.
