Nominations Sought for Sustainability Award
APEGBC is pleased to invite nominations for the annual Sustainability Award. The award is open to any project that has demonstrated a commitment to, and understanding of, the concept of sustainability and/or has applied one or more of the Sustainability Guidelines. Nominations must demonstrate the significant involvement of APEGBC members as key contributors to a project.
The Sustainability Award was created to recognize the important contribution that engineering and geoscience make to the well-being of human life and the ecosystem, and further seeks to recognize the positive role of human qualities such as ethics, imagination, reason and common sense in achieving this end.
Nominations should consist of a written description of approximately 500 words that clearly describes the project and the involvement of BC professional engineers and/or professional geoscientists, as well as the reasons it qualifies for the Sustainability Award. Once these submissions have been reviewed, a shortlist of project candidates will be invited to submit a more detailed document.
The deadline for nominations is March 19, 2010. For the full award criteria and nomination procedures, please see www.apeg.bc.ca/about/sustainability/.
