Opportunity for Internationally Trained Engineers to Receive Iron Ring
Camp 23 of the Corporation of the Seven Wardens, Inc., Victoria, BC will hold its 2010 spring Ritual of the Calling of an Engineer Ceremony at the University of Victoria, Saturday, March 13, 2010. While this ceremony is organized primarily for University of Victoria engineering graduands, internationally trained engineers are welcome to receive their iron rings on that date on a space available basis.
Eligibility to receive an iron ring is based on graduation from a CEAB accredited Canadian engineering degree program or its equivalent. For internationally trained engineers, registration with APEGBC as a professional engineer (P.Eng.) or engineer-in-training (EIT) is considered sufficient by Camp 23 to fulfill this requirement. No further documentation is required.
Please note that attending recipients will be responsible for their ring cost of $30.00 and their travel expenses to Victoria. Travel to Victoria from Metro Vancouver by BC Ferries on March 13 would require catching the 11:00 am sailing from Tsawwassen. Timing of the ceremony permits a return on the 5:00 pm sailing from Schwartz Bay.
Interested members are requested to contact Colin Smith, P.Eng. at colinsmith.ca@gmail.com no later than Thursday, February 04, 2010.
