APEGBC and UBC to host Salary Seminar and Student/Industry Networking Event

APEGBC and the UBC Student Development Office will host a salary seminar and industry reception on January 26, 2010. This event aims to provide engineering and geoscience students tools for salary negotiation and the opportunity to start building their industry contacts.

Dr. Elizabeth Croft, P.Eng, UBC professor and Associate Director of the Department of Mechanical Engineering, is the speaker for the salary seminar. Dr. Croft will be discussing current salary trends as well as some tips on negotiating salary. The seminar will be followed by a mixer-style reception where students and industry professionals can interact in an informal setting.

The Association extends an invitation to our working professionals to come out and share their industry experience and advice with students. To RSVP for the upcoming UBC Engineering Student/Industry Night, contact Amit Plaha by e-mail at aplaha@apeg.bc.ca or by (604) 412-4891.

Student members of APEGBC are encouraged to take advantage of this great opportunity to learn more about their future profession and begin building a valuable network of industry contacts. Students can register for this free event, by visiting our online registration.
