APEGBC Adopts National Geoscience Registration Requirements
APEGBC Council approved the adoption, effective January 1, 2011, of Geoscientists Canada’s Geocience Knowledge and Experience Requirements for Professional Registration in Canada. APEGBC’s adoption of this national document is a further step towards enhancing inter-provincial mobility.

New Window Standards to Take Effect
The North American Fenestration Standard—a combination of the current CAN/CSA A440 Canadian standard for windows and two American standards, the AAMA 101 and Window and Door WDMA I.S.2—is the standard referenced in the 2010 edition of the National Building Code of Canada.

Reminder – Changes to Energy Efficiency Standards Regulation
As of January 1, 2011, the Energy Efficiency Standards Regulation, BC Reg. 389/93, relating to the BC Energy Efficiency Act will regulate commercial, industrial, institutional and residential buildings that are five storeys and higher.
