High Tech Entrepreneur Receives National Engineering Award

Claudia Ng, P.Eng. accepts her award at the Canadian Engineers Awards Gala in Winnepeg.

An inspiration and role model to young entrepreneurs, immigrants and women, Claudia Ng, P.Eng. was honoured with the Award for the Support of Women in the Engineering Profession at the Canadian Engineers’ Awards gala at the Winnepeg Art Gallery on May 26, 2007.
An electrical engineer by trade, Ng is currently Senior Vice-President, Products and Services at Infowave Software and is co-founder and former CEO of FatPort, a commercial Wi-Fi provider.  In 2005 she was voted one of Business in Vancouver’s Top 40 under 40.   Her strengths in business development and management have helped to grow companies from start-up to industry leader.
Working energetically to improve business and social communities, Ng is a member of a variety of high tech trade groups, such as the Wired Woman Society and the British Columbia Technology Industries Association (BCTIA), and is a volunteer mentor and business advisor with SUCCESS.  She has actively promoted the advancement of women in the applied sciences and technology. In 2006, she was a nominee for the YWCA Woman of Distinction Awards.

Presented annually by Engineers Canada (formerly CCPE) since 1972, the Canadian Engineers’ Awards recognize outstanding engineers and engineering teams, projects and students.
