Division of Environmental Professionals Seeks Members
The Division of Environmental Professionals (DEP) is looking for new members and volunteers to guide the direction of this newly formed Division. Free membership for the Division is being offered for the remainder of the 2008 calendar year.
The Division’s overall goals are to promote education and high standards of practice in the field of environmental engineering and geoscience, and to advise Council on issues concerning practitioners. Membership benefits will include reduced rates at DEP-sponsored events, access to newsletters and voting privileges at Division general meetings.
If you are an APEGBC member working within an environmental field and wish to join the Division of Environmental Professionals, please visit www.apeg.bc.ca/event to sign up. Student and affiliate (non-APEGBC) members training or working in the environmental fields are welcome.
This year’s APEGBC Annual Conference in Kelowna, BC, October 16-18, will feature a professional development stream organized by DEP on contaminated sites and airshed management. The list of session topics and speakers can be viewed on the Annual Conference website at www.apeg.bc.ca/ac2008/environmental.html. DEP’s first annual general meeting will be held at the conference following the professional development sessions.
