Science and Technology Summer Activities for Kids 

A bright future in science starts with great learning experiences. During the summer months, educational and recreational day camps can be a fantastic way to introduce your child to science and technology in an active and entertaining environment. Here are a number available throughout the province:

GEERing Up! UBC Engineering and Science for Kids
GEERing Up! UBC Engineering Science for Kids is a non-profit program operated by UBC engineering and science students that offers workshops and camps for students in Grades 2 through 10 at the UBC Point Grey campus in Vancouver. These weeklong camps offer a mix of science, engineering and technology demonstrations, hands-on-projects, and design competitions.

SFU Mini-University - Science Degree
SFU Mini-University offers campers ages eight to 14 a true university experience. The science degree program provides opportunities to explore the areas of chemistry, engineering, biological science and kinesiology through fun activities and projects, leaving plenty of room for recreational time as well. Summer programs are available through both the Burnaby and Surrey campuses.

Summer Science Camps at Telus World of Science

Science Venture
Operated through the Faculty of Engineering at the University of Victoria, Science Venture is a non-profit organization that offers hands-on, minds-on science and technology learning opportunities for youth entering grades 1 through 12. In the summer months, Science Venture offers science, engineering and technology summer camps based out of the university.

Summer University For Northern Youth
The University of Northern BC (UNBC) hosts the Summer University for Northern Youth, which aims to engage youth ages 10 to 17 in science activities through a hands-on approach to learning. Located on UNBC’s campus in Prince George, Summer University programs include robotics, computer programming and the traditional sciences.
