Engineering and Geoscience Scholarships Available
APEGBC University Entrance & Transfer Scholarships
The Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of BC Foundation is offering a number of entrance scholarships to BC high school graduates entering engineering or geoscience programs, and engineering transfer programs at BC universities, colleges, and university colleges.
The entrance scholarships are valued at $2,500 each, and transfer scholarships, at $1,000 each. Scholarship selection is based on Grade 12 academics, extracurricular activities, references, financial need and the student’s written statement outlining reasons for entering the profession. Other scholarships awarded to applicants will be taken into consideration. The deadline for submissions is June 30, 2008.
Ultan Patrick Byrne Education Trust Bursary
The Ultan Patrick Byrne Education Trust provides bursaries to students enrolled in Medicine, Law, Nursing or Engineering at UBC, UVic, or SFU. The bursaries are awarded to students based on financial need and not on academic merit, however they must have been born in British Columbia and enrolled in one of the previously mentioned faculties. Applications for the 2008/09 academic year are now being accepted, closing date is April 30, 2008 at 4:00 pm PST.
