Appeal from Disciplinary Decision – Dr. Anthony A. Salway, P.Geo, Nelson, BC
In the March/April 2008 edition of Innovation we reported a decision of the Association’s Discipline Committee finding Dr. Salway liable of unprofessional conduct. Dr. Salway was reprimanded and ordered to pay $16,373 towards the Association’s legal costs.
Dr. Salway appealed that decision to the BC Supreme Court. On March 2, 2009, the Court found that the Discipline Panel had erred in law in finding Dr. Salway liable of unprofessional conduct and set aside its decision and penalty. A copy of the Supreme Court decision can be found on the Court’s website at www.courts.gov.bc.ca. The Association has not yet made a decision regarding an appeal.
