Disciplinary Hearing – Edward Kai Yuen (Ed) Lim, P.Eng., Burnaby, BC
Ed Lim, P.Eng. was served with a Notice of Inquiry alleging four charges of unprofessional conduct relating to his structural engineering services for a townhouse project in Squamish, BC and the investigation of the complaint about his services. An inquiry was held on October 21-23, 2008 and the Discipline Committee Panel issued its decision on liability on November 13, 2008.
The Panel found Mr. Lim liable of the charge that, in response to the investigation, he had provided the Association with different drawings than those submitted to the municipality. The other three charges were dismissed. On January 16, 2009, the Panel ordered that Mr. Lim be reprimanded and undergo a general and technical practice review at his own expense. The Panel also ordered the Association to pay Mr. Lim $10,973.46 towards his legal costs.
