APEGBC Members Recognized for Leadership in the Okanagan
In a celebration of leadership and innovation in science and technology, four APEGBC members were recognized for their contributions to the community at the Okanagan Science & Technology Council's (OSTEC) Third Annual Silicon Vineyard Awards on March 30, 2006.
For its role in bringing an engineering degree program to UBC Okanagan, the Okanagan Partnership’s Engineering Advisory Group received the Science and Technology Community Leadership Award, which recognizes individuals or organizations that have provided an outstanding contribution or service to the science and technology community, or community at large. Special recognition was given to APEGBC Past President Dick Fletcher, P.Eng.; Dr. Martin Wedepohl, P.Eng., Dean Emeritus, Applied Science, UBC; Dr. Michael Isaacson, P.Eng., Dean of the Faculty of Applied Science, UBC; and Dr. Barry McBride, Vice President Academic and Provost, UBC.
Mike Boudreau, P.Eng. was presented with the OSTEC Member of the Year award, which acknowledges an organization, or individual who has shown outstanding commitment to OSTEC through innovation, support, involvement and volunteer activities.
APEGBC congratulates the award recipients on their achievement, and their contributions to their local science and technology communities.
