Electronic Voting Available for Council Elections This Year

On April 30, 2008 the Engineers and Geoscientists Act was amended to allow electronic voting. This year, APEGBC will be moving to an electronic ballot for Council and bylaw elections. This medium of delivery is more environmentally friendly, and provides the benefits of cost savings and ease of distribution. Security will also be increased as votes will be handled by a third-party-ensured system and will have an interface that prevents duplicate votes and mis-marked ballots.

The electronic ballot will be launched in August for the 2008/2009 Council Election and bylaw vote.  Paper ballots will still be available upon request. Members will be notified when further information on the voting process is available.
