Summer Camp Programs Generate Youth Interest in Science
Summer is just around the corner and with it comes the opportunity to introduce school-aged children to science and technology through exciting summer camp programs. Below are a variety of programs run by local BC universities, all designed to offer a fun, hands-on science experience to youth.
EUReKA! - Kamloops
Thompson Rivers University is offering EUReKA! a week-long science and technology day camp for students aged 7-14. Campers will explore biology, chemistry, physics, engineering and technology. EUReKA! is a non-profit, student-run organization based out of Thompson Rivers University that strives to increase elementary students' interest in science and engineering.

Science Venture – Victoria
The University of Victoria hosts Science Venture, a non-profit, student-run, summer science and engineering program for kids. In July and August, the program runs eight weeks of science, engineering, and technology summer camps that are based out of the university. Opportunities are available for students from Grade 1 to 12.

GEERing Up! – Lower Mainland
GEERing Up! UBC Engineering Science for Kids is a non-profit program operated by UBC engineering and science students that offers workshops and camps for students in Grades 2 through 10 at the UBC Point Grey campus. During July and August weeklong summer camps are available. These camps offer a mix of science, engineering and technology demonstrations, hands-on-projects, and design competitions.

SFU Mini-University – Lower Mainland
Youth age 8-14 can get a taste of the university experience up at Simon Fraser University, learning engineering, chemistry, biology and computer programming.
