APEGBC's 2006 Annual Conference Highlights Real World Solutions

Beautiful weather accentuated APEGBC's 2006 Annual Conference and AGM from October 12 - 14, 2006 at the Victoria Conference Centre. Six hundred and eighty-nine conference delegates attended the 2006 Annual Conference for professional development, networking, a two-day trade show and the Association's 87th Annual General Meeting.

The 2006 Conference offered seven professional development (PD) streams: DEGIFS, Municipal Engineering, Project Management, Structural Engineering, Environment, Better Business, and Professional Responsibilities.

Victoria Branch Chair, Andy Jani P.Eng., acted as master of ceremonies for keynote speaker breakfasts and lunches featuring Ministers Hansen, Falcon and Coell and Peter Legge. All three of the Ministers emphasized how integral the professions of engineering and geoscience are to the quality of life in BC. An exhibitor's wine and beer tasting replaced the “fun night” on the first evening of the conference, drawing over 200 delegates to taste local BC spirits while mingling with colleagues in the exhibit hall.
