2006 Annual General Meeting - New Business Session Motions
The following motions from the floor were made by APEGBC members during the New Business Session of the Annual General Meeting held on October 14, 2006 in Victoria:
Motion 1: It is moved that Council be directed to give consideration to: change the designation of Designated Structural Engineer to Designated Building Structural Engineer. CARRIED.
Moved by Ralph Watts P.Eng., seconded by Charlotte-Ann (Sharlie) Huffman P.Eng.
Motion 2:
It is moved that Council be directed to give consideration to: when promoting the Designated Structural Engineer designation that APEGBC make it clear that many engineers specializing in the areas not requiring a Designated Structural Engineer are not eligible for the Designated Structural Engineer designation. DEFEATED.

Motion 3: It is moved that Council be directed to give consideration to: amend, include and reinstate in the Oath of Office of incoming officers, the concluding phrase “So Help Me God”. DEFEATED.

Motion 4: It is moved that Council be directed to give consideration to: an increase in grants to branches to enable them to meet expectations of image enhancement in keeping with the future oriented strategy of the Association. CARRIED.

Motion 5: It is moved that Council be directed to give consideration to: publish all committee reports at least one month prior to the AGM. CARRIED.
