Discipline Notice – Robert Weicker, Coquitlam, BC
Robert Weicker was served with a Notice of Inquiry alleging unprofessional conduct for signing and publishing three misleading news releases as the Senior Geologist and a director of a mining company. A mediation involving Mr. Weicker and representatives of the Registrar of the Association and the Association’s Discipline Committee was held to discuss resolution of the matter.
In lieu of proceeding to an inquiry, Mr. Weicker has signed a Consent Order admitting the allegations in the Notice of Inquiry and agreeing to the following penalty:
- Mr. Weicker’s membership in the Association is suspended for 6 months commencing November 1, 2008;
- prior to April 30, 2009, Mr. Weicker must:
- write and pass the Association’s Professional Practice Examination;
- attend the Association’s Law & Ethic seminar;
- take a course on the duties and responsibilities of a “qualified person” under N I 43-101; and
- pay $5,000.00 towards the Association’s investigation costs; and
- prior to October 30, 2009, Mr. Weicker must take a course on the responsibilities and obligations of directors and officers of public companies
If Mr. Weicker fails to comply with any of the above conditions, he will remain suspended until all the conditions have been met.
