Manning Awards Recognize Innovative Developments

Canadians who have demonstrated innovative talent in developing and marketing a new concept, process or procedure may be eligible for one of several awards from the Ernest C. Manning Awards Foundation.

Innovations may be in any area of human endeavour. The Manning Innovation Awards are for current, successful, specific innovations and are not lifetime achievement awards. Innovations should be original, show a fair degree of intellectual achievement or quality of thinking, and have been thoroughly developed and tested. They should have a proven track record of market success. If applicable, they should be patented.

Candidates must be nominated by two persons not related to the nominee by family. There are three categories of awards: the Principal Award ($100,000), Award of Distinction ($25,000), and the Innovation Awards (two at $10,000). The deadline to submit nominations is December 1, 2009.

The Ernest C. Manning Awards Foundation originated in Alberta has been recognizing and encouraging innovation in Canada since 1982.
More information on the awards, as well as nomination forms, is available on the Manning Innovation Awards website at www.manningawards.ca.
