New Limited Licence in Engineering Program - Standard Scope of Practice for Electrical Technologists Providing Electrical Design Services for Buildings
APEGBC is soliciting expressions of interest from those interested in piloting a Limited Licence in Engineering program for electrical technologists providing electrical design services for buildings. Successful applicants will be granted a limited licence to practice professional engineering.
A limited licence in engineering is a professional license that allows an individual not otherwise qualified for registration as a professional engineer to practise professional engineering within a clearly defined scope.
The scope for this licence is electrical design services for buildings for areas of practice limited to the application of prescriptive codes and standards where the detailed engineering has been carried out and a professional engineer has certified that the codes and standards used are prescriptive.
All fees are waived for pilot participants. This reflects a savings of approximately $1,500 in application, examination and licence fees. A maximum of five candidates will be selected.
For further details on the Limited Licence program, or scope definition, or to submit your expression of interest, visit www.apeg.bc.ca/llpilot.
Expressions of interest will be received up until October 26, 2007. The program will be initiated as soon as the selected applicants are notified. Candidates not selected for the pilot will be notified by e-mail.
