Discipline Inquiry – Jerzy Kaminski, P.Eng., Vancouver, BC

A complaint was received by the Association regarding a concept review performed by Mr. Kaminski. The matter was investigated by staff and referred to the Investigation Committee. A sub-committee was appointed and found that Mr. Kaminski had failed to identify the many deficiencies in the design engineer’s drawings. The sub-committee recommended an inquiry, which was supported by the Investigation Committee and a Notice of Inquiry was issued.

A Panel of the Discipline Committee found Mr. Kaminski liable of the charge set out in the Notice of Inquiry and assessed the following penalty:

  • A reprimand;
  • A practice review (general and technical) at his own expense;
  • Payment to the Association of $13,500 representing approximately 50% of the Association’s costs of investigation; and
  • That if Mr. Kaminski fails to complete the practice review and or make payment to the Association on the due dates, he will be suspended until the practice review is complete and the payments are made.
