Notice of Retirement: Ross Rettie, P. Eng., Director, Professional Practice and Ethics

APEGBC announces the retirement of S. Ross Rettie, P.Eng., Director, Professional Practice and Ethics effective September 30, 2008. As published in the January/February 2008 issue of Innovation, Ross has been on sick leave, although he has continued to contribute to APEGBC as his health permits.

Ross was registered as a professional engineer in 1973. Ross has served his profession well, having been an active volunteer in Association affairs both at the branch level and as a Council appointee on various committees such as the Research, Public Relations, Registration and the Consulting Practice Committees.

Ross joined APEGBC in 1990 as Director, Professional Practice. Since 1993 he has been Director, Professional Practice and Ethics. In these roles Ross has also contributed to his profession on a national basis through his responsibilities with respect to Engineers Canada (formerly CCPE). He has recently been named a Fellow of Engineers Canada (FEC).

In addition to activities related to the profession of engineering, over the past years Ross has also served his home community of Delta in various capacities as a volunteer.

On behalf of APEGBC, we wish Ross all the best in his retirement and thank him for his contributions as a professional engineer and as a senior staff member of APEGBC.
