Engineering and Geoscience Undergraduate Scholarships
The APEGBC Foundation offers a number of scholarships to engineering and geoscience students attending BC universities. Three different scholarships are currently available this fall: the 2008 BC Hydro/APEGBC scholarships, APEG-MAPS scholarships, and the 2008 South Central Branch Thompson Rivers University Engineering Transfer scholarship.
The 2008 BC Hydro/APEGBC 4th Year Engineering and Geoscience scholarships focus on encouraging students to continue their goal of becoming professional engineers or geoscientists. A total of 15 scholarships, each valued at $1,500, will be awarded to deserving male and female student applicants from the University of British Columbia, Simon Fraser University, and the University of Victoria from all engineering and geoscience disciplines. APEG-MAPS members are eligible to apply for the APEG-MAPS University Undergraduate scholarship. Valued at $1,000 each, these scholarships are offered annually to APEG-MAPS members attending engineering and geoscience programs in BC, and reward undergraduate students for their contributions to the advancement of the professions. The South Central Branch offers a scholarship to specifically to support the Engineering Transfer Program at Thompson Rivers University. This scholarship, valued at $1,000, is awarded on the basis of a combination of factors. Applications are evaluated on academic standing, extracurricular activities, financial need and student statement. The deadline for application submissions is October 10, 2008.
