The Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of B.C. regulates the practices of professional engineers and geoscientists for the safety of the public and protection of the environment through proactive regulatory tools. Proactive regulatory tools include the development of practice guidelines, technical bulletins, agreements with other professions, the Practice Review Program and various Committees. Guidelines for Geotechnical, Electrical, Mechanical and Structural Engineering services are available as well as Building Envelope, Sustainability, Forestry and Terrain Stability. Practice Review Program
Promoting excellence and high standards, Practice Reviews function as a means to assist APEGBC in monitoring and maintaining practice standards. Practice Reviews assess a member's current practice to verify that it is is consistent with the Act and Bylaws, and where relevant, practice guidelines.
Professional Practice Related Committees
APEGBC has various working committees appointed by Council to advise the Association, other organizations, government ministries and related professional bodies on matters related to the practices of professional engineering and professional geoscience.
School Seismic Upgrade Program
Information and clarification on issues related to the use and application of the Bridging Guidelines developed for the BC School Seismic Upgrade Program.
Organizational Professional Risk Management and Quality Assurance Program This pilot program has the end goal of reducing professional risk at the organizational level, recognizing the significant influence that companies employing engineers or geoscientists have on the practice of the professions. If adopted, this self-funded program will be available on a voluntary basis to all organizations providing professional engineering and/or geoscience services.

Climate Change
A changing climate raises important considerations in the practices of professional engineering and professional geoscience. The Association encourages members to learn about how climate change impacts their practice.
