Distance Education Technical Support - Frequently Asked Questions

How do I open/ start the conference program?

  1. Insert any CD from an installed conference package (if this does not open the conference automatically, your AutoRun is disabled: use method "b" or "c" below).
  2. From the Start Menu, go up to Programs, over to the APEGBC folder that contains the appropriate conference, and then click on the "Watch" icon for the conference. You will have to insert any CD that is requested by the program. OR
  3. From your Windows desktop, double-click on the APEGBC icon for the conference you wish to view. Insert any CD that is requested by the program. *IMPORTANT*: Do not eject a CD unless the conference program is closed first, or if the program is requesting that you insert a different CD.

The installation does not "AutoRun" when the first CD is inserted. What do I do?

  1. From the Start Menu, open the "Windows Explorer" program.
  2. In Windows Explorer, select your CD drive to view its contents.
  3. From the list of programs available on the root of the CD, double click on the "Px_AutorunCD1" program (x is the product number "1, 2, 3 etc.")

The speaker video is not displayed or a red "x" appears. What should I do?

You will need to install Windows Media Player 6.4

The CD will not work on my Mac computer.

This CD is not Mac compatible. You will need to install it on a PC. If you are unable to do this, return your CD for a full refund.

  • 8X CDROM
  • 4Mb Video at 800x600 16-bit colour (24-bit or 32-bit colour depth recommended)
