Seminar

This seminar is a one-day advanced level classroom-based course.  It will provide tools for designers, reviewers, and site managers to develop and review effective erosion and sediment control drawings, specifications, and contracts.  It will review the appropriate legislation, regulations, and bylaws, and focus on the appropriate selection and implementation of Best Management Practices. It will explore the site conditions that impact ESC choices, as well as discuss the phasing and staging of ESC plans.  Participants will use their knowledge to develop site-specific, adaptive, efficient and effective ESC plans for the real world.

This session builds upon the theory and fundamentals of Erosion & Sediment Control.  Completion of the Erosion & Sediment Control seminar is recommended, but not essential.  It is intended that participants have a good understanding of the fundamentals of erosion and the various BMPs, as this course will deal with the design and implementation of the appropriate erosion controls as source controls and sediment controls as secondary measures. We will review the various BMPs, and discuss a wide variety of innovative practices as well as proprietary products.  We will compare prices and values and effectiveness to help devise the most efficient and effective plans.  We will complete actual case study examples so that participants can work through an ESC plan design from start to finish.

This session is appropriate for civil and environmental engineers, designers, field staff, project managers, regulatory managers, and all those active in the ESC industry.  Find out how to consistently meet the governing guidelines, regulations, and bylaws, by designing plans and managing sites that really work.
