  • Failures, Repair and Routine Inspection
  • Grouted Rock Protection; Unique Applications (energy dissipators, splash pads etc.)

Instructor

Des Goold, P.Eng., Associate – Northwest Hydraulic Consultants Ltd.

Des Goold has 11 years of design and project management experience in river engineering and specializes in the hydraulic design of bridge, culvert and pipeline crossings.  He has a strong technical background in hydrologic analysis, numerical modelling, river behaviour and morphology, and the hydraulic design of erosion and scour countermeasures for stream crossings and stream embankments.  Since 2005 Des has been the hydraulic design lead for the upgrading of the Sea to Sky Highway between Horseshoe Bay and Whsitler, BC. Over that time, he has gained valuable experience in the design and construction of rock protection in some very unique and challenging stream environments.
