The purpose of this seminar is to motivate participants to adopt portions of or all of an ISO 14001:2004 environmental management system to improve the sustainability of their organization.
The seminar will begin with a discussion of why we need EMS in our workplaces (public and private) and then show, through case study examples, how EMS has helped. The remainder of the seminar will be providing participants with insights on some key aspects of the EMS and how they can apply these nuggets of understanding to their trade or business. Participants can expect to gain a sound overview and some background references from taking this course as well as have some concrete examples to improve practices at their place of work.
The seminar is meant for:
- Professional Engineers interested in environmental management
- Managers involved in any business (that is more than just an office) that has more than 30 employees
- Municipal, Regional District , Provincial government and Crown Corporation managers
- Anyone concerned about saving money, preventing pollution, complying with regulations, impressing customers and sustainability
