CPD Reporting Centre
The CPD Reporting Centre can be broken down into four distinct sections:
- Personal Information and Archive
- Data Entry
- Data Management
- Reporting
1. Personal Information and Archive
This section displays your personal information and provides links to the archive (Fig. 1). When entering your data, it is important to ensure you are entering the data in the correct calendar year. To begin, simply click on the appropriate year in the archive list.

2. Data Entry
The data entry section allows you to enter up to three new activities at one time (Fig. 2). To be in compliance with APEGBC's CPD Guideline, members are required to complete an average of 30 Professional Development Hours (PDH) per year (90 PDH on a 3-year rolling average) in at least two of the four categories. A maximum of 20 PDH can be claimed in any one category in a calendar year.
This section allows you to carry over PDH to future reporting years. If you would like to carry over PDH, indicate the year to which you would like to carry over and the number of PDH you would like to carry over. When you have filled in the appropriate fields simply click the Submit button at the top or bottom of the data entry section.
Please note the CPD requirements for the Designated Structural Engineer differ. A Designated Structural Engineer must accumulate at least 150 PDH over a 3-year period. Struct. Eng.s must list an additional 20 PDH per year, other than Professional Practice, that is specifically Continuing Professional Development in the structural discipline.

3. Data Management
The data management section allows you to edit or delete existing activities within a given year (Fig. 3).To edit an entry you must select the appropriate year from the archive list in the top section (Fig. 1). This will display all of the records for that year in the data management section (Fig. 3).
To edit the record, simply alter the values of the fields you want to change and then click the EDIT button located to the left of the record. The page will then refresh and your new data should be displayed in the fields.
To completely delete a record, select the appropriate year from the archive section, find the record you want to remove from the list in the data management section and click the DELETE button located to the left of the record. Please note that once a record is deleted it cannot be recovered. If you find that you have accidentally deleted the wrong record you must re-enter the record using the data entry section.

4. Reporting
The reporting function allows you to create a report of all your activities within a given time period. There are two report formats that you can choose from.
Generate Activity Report - This report allows you to generate an online report which prints a formatted list of all of the records within the time period you specify. It also allows you to download the records into a Microsoft Excel spreadsheet for reformatting of the data (Fig. 4). If you choose to download your report to a Microsoft Excel spreadsheet you will be prompted to download a file called report.csv. Choose "Open file from current location" and click OK.
Excel Note: If you choose to download your report as a MS Excel file you will be prompted to either open the file from the current location or download the file to disk. Please open the file from its current location (you may be prompted more than once, please choose open from current location each time). This will cause the report to be opened in MS Excel or whatever program your computer has associated with .CSV files. You can then save the file to your hard disk like a regular file.
