Engineering  

There are many types of membership that you can apply for:

  • Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) Meets all academic and experience requirements, licensed to practice engineering at a professional level, takes professional responsibility for work.
  • Inter-Association Mobility Engineers Presently an EIT or P.Eng. in another Canadian Association/Ordre who wishes to apply for EIT or P.Eng. membership at APEGBC.
  • International Agreement Engineers Active membership with Engineers Australia (CPEng), The Hong Kong Institution of Engineers (MHKIE) or Engineers Ireland (CEng MIEI)allows for a more streamlined process towards Professional Engineer registration with APEGBC
  • Engineer-in-Training (EIT) Meets academic requirements, does engineering work under the supervison of a P.Eng. and is gaining necessary experience to reach a professional level, can use "engineer" title when being supervised by a licensed P.Eng. and including the postmoninal EIT or words 'Engineer in Training'
  • Provisional Member . Meets academic requirements, has more than four years of approved experience outside of Canada and is working to gain the required year of engineering work in a Canadian environment, does engineering work under the supervision of a P.Eng., can use "engineer" in title when being supervised by a licensed P.Eng. and including the words 'Provisonal Member'.
  • Non-Resident Licensee. Meets all academic and experience requirements, licensed to practice engineering at a professional level, takes professional responsibility for work, does NOT hold Canadian citizenship or permanent residency.
