Category 1 - Professional Engineers or Professional Geoscientists
whose practice rights have lapsed in British Columbia but who have been
maintaining full practising membership or licence with another Canadian provincial/territorial
Association/Ordre or a U.S. State Board of Professional Engineer Registration or Licensure or a U.S. State Board of Professional Geologist Registration or Licensure:
- An application for resumption of practice rights
- Resumption of Practice Fee. Please check the FEE SCHEDULE for the most current fees
- Certified* copy of Canadian Citizenship if not previously submitted
- Provide a letter of explaination as to why you wish to resume your practicing status
- Completed Practice Declaration Form
- P.Eng. or P.Geo. Confirmation Request Form from your current provincial/territorial
Association(s)/Ordre or State Board. Please ask your current Association(s)/Ordre
to mail or fax the completed form to APEGBC
Category
2: Non - Practising Professional Engineers or Professional Geoscientists or Limited Licensees (Eng.L. or Geo.L.) whose practice rights
have lapsed less than one year and who are not covered by Category 1:
- An application for resumption of practice rights
- 50% of the Resumption of Practice Fee. Please check the FEE SCHEDULE for the most current fees
- Provide a letter of explaination as to why you wish to resume your practicing status
- Certified* copy of Canadian Citizenship if not previously submitted
- Completed Practice Declaration Form
Category 3: Non - Practising Professional Engineers or Professional Geoscientists or Limited Licensees (Eng.L. or Geo.L.) whose
practice rights have lapsed for more than one year but less then three who are not covered by Category 1
- An application for resumption of practice rights
- Resumption of Pratice Fee. Please check the FEE SCHEDULE for the most current fees
- Provide a letter of explaination as to why you wish to resume your practicing status in British Columbia
- Certified* copy of Canadian Citizenship if not previously submitted
- Completed Practice Declaration Form
- 2 references** who can attest to your character and practice competency.
- Current professional record of your work experience
- Attendance at the Law and Ethics Seminar if not previously attended
Category 4: Non - Practising Professional Engineers or Professional Geoscientists or Limited Licensees (Eng.L. or Geo.L.) whose
practice rights have lapsed fo over three years and who are not covered by Category 1 :
- An application for resumption of practice rights
- Resumption of Pratice Fee. Please check the FEE SCHEDULE for the most current fees
- Provide a letter of explaination as to why you wish to resume your practicing status
- Certified* copy of Canadian Citizenship if not previously submitted
- Completed Practice Declaration Form
- 2 references** that cover the total number of years since membership

- Professional record of your work experience
- Attendance at the Law and Ethics Seminar
- Application to write the Professional Practice Examination if not written and passed previously
- Applicants in Category 4 may be required to work under professional supervison for a period and on such terms as set by the APEGBC Council and provide references from the professional supervisor.
*To have a copy certified, make a photocopy of your document (citizenship card, birth certificate or current passport) and ask a P.E., P.Eng., P.Geo., or Notary Public to sign and stamp it as a "true copy of the original". Alternatively, you may bring your original document to the APEGBC office and we can make a certified copy for you at no cost. Please do not send your original citizenship card, birth certificate or current passport to APEGBC.
** Referees must be a Professional Engineer or Professional Geoscientist with first-hand knowledge of your work who can attest to your character and practice competancy

When your practice rights resume you will be sent an official letter and emailed invoice for this year's dues. Your Licence and System ID numbers will be reactivated. |
