Environmental Awards

Past Winners

Nominations for the 2012 APEGBC Environmental Awards are now being accepted.

APEGBC's Environment Committeee encourages submissions for the Environmental Awards, which highlight the role of professional engineers and geoscientists in responsible environmental management. Awards are offered in two categories:

1) Concept and Assessment; and
2) Design, Construction and Monitoring.

Initially, brief (500 word) written nominations describing the project, the reasons it should win an award and the names of the engineers/geoscientists involved are screened by the Committee. Subsequently, up to three finalists in each category are invited to submit comprehensive reports with appropriate supporting materials.

Sustainability considerations are particularly emphasized during project evaluation. The winning submission received their awards during APEGBC's Annual Conference, held in October.

Full details on the submission process and awards criteria can be found in the Submission Rules and Judging Criteria.
