2008 Popsicle Stick Bridge Building Contest

The Sea-To-Sky Branch of APEGBC held its 8TH Annual Popsicle Bridge Building Competition at Capilano Mall in North Vancouver. We had sixty-eight bridges entered into the competition, many of which were team entries. The crowd was kept entertained by our MC, Starbuck fuled the elementary school kids with hot chocolate (thank you!), and the audience got to watch the pressure build on each bridge (literally) with our live digital display. One of the more spectacular moments was when Kyle Martin's bridge finally failed catastrophically at 6693.9 Newtons (!). We would like to thank all of our volunteers ands especially our sponsors: EarthTech, Knight-Piesold, Stantec, MMM Group, David Aplin Recruiting, Associated Engineering, McElhanney, RST Instruments and Levelton.

Thank you to:
