REVIEWS RECAP: CLIMATE CHANGE COURSE SYLLABUS and WATER SUSTAINABILITY ACT POLICY PROPOSAL

In recent months the DEP has completed a review of the

• Engineers Canada “National Climate Change Action Plan, Proposed Syllabus for Course in Climate Change” (see the syllabus here including DEP's and APEGBC's comments) and the
• BC Ministry of Environment’s Water Sustainability Act Policy Proposal (see the proposal here, and DEP and APEGBCs comments here).

In both cases, DEP presented comments to staff to compile them with those from other committees and present one document to Engineers Canada or the BC Government.  Many thanks to the Syllabus review group (Eric Mazzi, P.Eng., Ph.D., Stephen Stewart, P.Eng., Ph.D., Robert Stupka, MASc, EIT, Barry Azevedo, MASc, P.Eng., Bryan Brassington, P.Geo.) and the Water Sustainability Act review group (Rob Marsland, M.Sc., P.Eng., Charito Kaay, P.Eng., Bryan Brassington, P.Geo.) for their great efforts in completing these reviews.

The DEP is currently undertaking a review of the APEGBC Sustainability Committee’s revised Sustainability Guidelines.  If you are interested in sitting on any upcoming review groups, please get in touch with the DEP at dep.apegbc@gmail.com and we will contact you as the need arises.
