We need Professional Engineers and Geoscientists in every discipline and every area of expertise to conduct paper reviews. To become a reviewer you must:
- Be an APEGBC member
- Preferably working at a senior capacity
- Have at least ten years of experience in your stated field of practice
Experience Reviews are for applicants who have completed their experience requirement. These reviews determine whether applicants have four years of satisfactory engineering experience in accordance with the "Satisfactory Engineering Experience" guideline and the appropriate discipline specific experience guideline, if available. The reviewers are expected to give a recommendation whether in their opinion the applicant can be recommended for professional registration.
The reviews are conducted at the reviewers own home. Each application is reviewed by 3 engineers who practice in the same discipline as the applicant.
The number of reviews you would be requested to do is dependent on the number of reviews that we receive in your discipline. The reviewer will be provided with background information on the applicant, which will include the application form, work experience details and references.
The typical review would require approximately one hour of documentation review.
You will be provided with the appropriate training in the conduct of Applications Committee reviews and the application of APEGBC Policy.
As a volunteer you will be credited with CPD hours.
If you are interested in becoming involved in the review process, or if you have any questions, please contact Caroline Westra at cwestra@apeg.bc.ca.
