We are currently searching for a Mechanical Engineer to join our growing buildings practice. The opportunity is based in our Vancouver office; however your projects will be across Canada. Our building projects are expected to focus on reducing energy and water demands as well as reducing the carbon footprint. How You'll Contribute to Our Company:

You will contribute to the company by leading and participating in studies, reports, and assessments in the design of buildings, building mechanical systems, HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems. You will also lead the development of our passive house and net zero designs and their application to major projects. Your responsibilities will include project management, the preparation of designs, cost estimates, specifications, and contract documents. You will also be required to participate in scheduling, budgeting, tendering, contract administration, inspection, and commissioning. As a leader you will also be involved in business development, client relations, preparation of proposals, and guiding junior staff in these same activities.

What You Will Bring to the Table:

Candidates should possess the following qualifications:

  • Undergraduate degree in mechanical engineering or building engineering from an accredited university.
  • Eligible for registration as a Professional Engineer with APEGBC.
  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in mechanical engineering focused on sustainability.
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in passive house design. Passive house accredited.
  • Experience with design, specifications, cost estimating, tendering, construction administration, commissioning, and inspections.
  • Excellent command of the English language, both verbal and written.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Committed team player with the ability to contribute and perform in a multi-discipline environment.
  • Proven business development skills.
  • Knowledge of BIM is an asset.
  • Ability to travel across Canada within a reasonable schedule.
