Kerr Wood Leidal Associates Ltd. (KWL) is currently seeking an experienced wastewater treatment engineer to work in our Burnaby office on municipal and industrial wastewater treatment projects.  Projects include feasibility studies, assessments of existing treatment facilities, process design, detailed design, tendering, and construction monitoring. Typical assignments include centralized community treatment facilities, complete with effluent disposal or re-use and leading edge energy recovery systems, and smaller scale onsite treatment and disposal.

You enjoy seeking new business opportunities, and establishing long-lasting working relationships with new and existing clients. You can manage multi-discipline projects, teach younger staff, and undertake detailed design work. You excel at problem solving efficiently, both in the office and in the field. Your qualifications, interests, and experience will include a combination of the following:
  • Bachelors degree in chemical, civil, or mechanical engineering.
  • Professional Engineer eligible for registration with APEGBC.
  • Minimum of 15 plus years of related work experience.
  • Focused on business development.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage a multi-disciplinary team from conceptual through detailed design.
  • Proven experience with treatment processes, piping systems, and pumping systems.
  • Proven leadership experience in mentoring and supervising junior staff in detailed design calculations, equipment selection, and specifications and contract documents preparation.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication skills (both oral and written), and presentation skills.
  • Strong leadership skills, proven ability to interact effectively with all levels of the organization in a collaborative fashion.
  • Consulting engineering experience is an asset.
