Amin Ghafooripour, PhD., PE, M.ASCE, SEI, SEONC, AWC, ASEE, UIA

Dr. Amin Ghafooripour is a faculty at San Jose State University and the CEO of Padir Consulting Engineers Corp. He is an international educator with 25 years of experience in the United States, United Kingdom, UAE, and Iran. He is well-versed in teaching, and an engaging lecturer and instructor with the experience of teaching diverse students of various ethnicities, nationalities, ability levels, and learning styles, having instructed students from over 35 different nationalities. 

About the Event


This presentation gives an overview on the meaning of the response modification factor (R) and the expected damage level in the building (ASCE7-16), damage levels based on the performance-based analysis (PBA) (ASCE 41), including Immediate Occupancy (I.O.), Life Safety (L.S.), and Collapse Prevention (C.P.); the idea of damage management in a structure (suggested by the author); and the application of the performance base analysis in BIM (indicated by the author).
