ACEC Report Tackles Sustainability in Engineering Projects

The Association of Consulting Engineering Companies - Canada (ACEC) has recently released a report, Sustainable Development for Canadian Consulting Engineers, a new resource that identifies practices and tools that will help consulting engineers and their clients deliver sustainable projects. The report's author is an internationally recognized expert on sustainability, Dr. John Boyd, P.Eng.

- Provide a summary of the background to sustainable development and its implications for consulting engineers and their clients
- Look at existing systems to measure the sustainability of infrastructure projects and consider their possible use in Canada, and
- Suggest an approach that would support ACEC membership in their efforts to execute projects more sustainably.
