APEGBC is undertaking initiatives to help members foster diverse workplace environments that welcome all members of our society and enable them to contribute to their full professional potential. The APEGBC Professional Practice Guidelines – Human Rights and Diversity clarify the association’s expectations of members and licensees and provide guidance and best practices to APEGBC professionals with respect to human rights and diversity in professional practice.
APEGBC consulted with numerous individuals, organizations, and interest groups during the guidelines’ development to ensure that the perspectives of individuals and industries have been heard and considered. All members are encouraged to review the practice guideline.
In addition, APEGBC is hosting a seminar to help familiarise members with the guidelines and to assist members in understanding how human rights and diversity issues apply to their professional practice. The professional development seminar takes place February 28, 2017, in Vancouver. Topics covered include the types of discrimination, diversity considerations, and the complaint procedure.
